Teenager charged after incident in Grassmoor

It happened on Sunday after an altercation in Henry Street

A teenager has been charged with a number of offences following an incident in Grassmoor.

Officers were called out to reports of an altercation in Henry Street at about 8.15pm on Sunday 24 May.

A woman and a man, both aged in their 30s, sustained stab wounds. A 17-year-old girl suffered a slash wound.

None of the injuries were life-threatening or life-changing.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in connection with the incident and he has now been charged with the following offences:-

Two counts of Section 18 GBH with intent

Common assault

Threats to kill

Possession of a knife blade / sharply pointed article in a public place

He is due to appear before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 26 May).
