A teenage boy has died after a collision in Bramcote.
Emergency services were called to Chilwell Lane at 10.10am on Sunday (28 September) following reports of a collision involving an electric bike and two cars.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, the 16-year-old bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and officers are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch without delay.
Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“Our thoughts are with this boy’s family, friends and loved ones as we continue to investigate the circumstances of this tragic incident.
“His family have asked for privacy at this extremely difficult time.
“As part of our inquiries we are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.
“We’d like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage or who saw the vehicles involved, particularly the distinctive black and yellow bike which was in company with a pedal cycle, and also a silver car which were heading in the same direction, in the moments before the collision.”
