Nottingham's much-loved Splendour Festival, held annually in Wollaton Park, will have its final curtain call this July.

For the last 18 years, this summer festival has been a significant event in the city, attracting tens of thousands of attendees.

Scheduled for the weekend of 18th and 19th July, the festival boasts an impressive lineup featuring The Wombats, Primal Scream, The Ks, and Hard Life on Saturday, followed by Snow Patrol, Editors, Craig David Presents TS5, and The Flaming Lips on Sunday.

A Celebrated Legacy

Splendour's organisers aim to unite the Nottingham community to commemorate the festival's rich history by sending it off in style.

The event has played a memorable role in the lives of many attendees, creating cherished traditions and numerous personal milestones along the way.

Since its beginning in 2008, the festival has been a champion of Nottingham's local music scene.

It has provided a platform for local artists to perform alongside famous national acts.

2013 saw Nottingham's own Jake Bugg headline, just two years after appearing on a smaller stage at the festival.

More recently, ALT BLK ERA has made strides in their career through the festival, winning awards and securing record deals.

A Time to Remember

DHP Family MD George Akins expressed pride in Splendour's legacy: “Splendour has truly played an important part in the lives of many people, and is much loved for its family-friendly environment, as well as its genre and era-spanning line-ups that have seen some huge artists come to play in Wollaton Park."

He noted the festival's struggles with rising costs and increased market competition, saying, "After careful thought, we feel the right thing to do is to make this year a proper celebration of everything Splendour has meant to Nottingham and give it the send-off it deserves. Please do come along and help us go out on a high.”

Splendour has hosted prominent acts over the years, including Paolo Nutini, Noel Gallagher, Madness, Pet Shop Boys, Calvin Harris, Rag N Bone Man, and many others.

Councillor Neghat Khan from Nottingham City Council highlighted the festival's role in showcasing talent and creating lasting memories, stating: “We hope now that many of you will turn out to say goodbye and make this final festival a fitting celebration of Splendour’s legacy in Nottingham.”

As the city prepares for its final Splendour, it promises to be an unforgettable gathering filled with music, memories, and community spirit.
