Robert Jenrick named Reform's new Shadow Chancellor
The Newark MP was named Reform's economic spokesman barely a month after joining the party from the Tories
Nigel Farage said Reform UK was "the voice of opposition" to Labour as he unveiled his party's first frontbench appointments.
Conservative defector, Robert Jenrick was given a spokesperson role along with Suella Braverman, Richard Tice and Zia Yusuf.
Mr Jenrick, a former communities secretary under Boris Johnson, was named Reform's economic spokesman barely a month after joining the party from the Tories.
Robert Jenrick thanked Nigel Farage after it was announced he was taking on the Treasury brief on the Reform UK front bench.
The MP said: "Nigel, thank you for giving me the opportunity to oppose the wrecking ball that is Rachel Reeves and this Labour Government."
He added: "Above all, thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak up, to be a voice for the millions of people who are being failed by this Labour Government."
He said Reform would put together "the most comprehensive plan of any political party" to "fix Britain's broken economy".
Mr Jenrick added he was going to work with Mr Farage, Zia Yusuf, and Richard Tice on plans that "cut waste" and bring down the benefits bill.
Other areas he said the party would focus on are cutting taxes and youth unemployment.
He said: "We're going to set out our economic plans tomorrow, but it's going to be about reducing bills, having a sensible energy policy to make our country more competitive once again, reducing taxes as we can, and bring back good jobs in all parts of the country."
