Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a 20-year-old man has died following a stabbing in St Ann’s.

Police were called to Abbotsford Drive at around 12.50pm today (10 November) after a man was found with stab wounds.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics at the scene, the man died shortly afterwards.

Officers are urging any witnesses who haven’t already spoken to the police to please come forward.

A team of detectives are working tirelessly to find those responsible.

Chief Superintendent Nick Waldram said:

“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family during this incredibly difficult time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.

“Detectives are already working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.

“They want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything which could assist our inquiries.

“No matter how insignificant you think your information may be, we want to hear from you.

“People in the area will understandably be concerned, but we currently believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.

“We know the impact this incident will have on the local community and therefore will be increasing patrols to provide reassurance while inquiries continue.”
