A man who died in Leicester on Monday (29 Sept) has been named as Philip Nutting, 53, whose family have described as a much-loved father, son, brother, and uncle.
In a statement, Mr Nutting’s family said: “Our beloved Philip – also known as Phil or Phily-B – was a much-loved father, son, brother and uncle.
“Phil touched the lives of everyone he met and was one of a kind. He was always singing, laughing, and was everybody’s friend. He was taken far too soon.
“As a family we will miss his presence always.”
Patrolling officers found Philip on Modbury Avenue at 12:10am on Monday and carried out CPR but he died at the scene.
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 19- and 20-year-old remain in police custody, whilst a 25-year-od was released without charge.
Detective Chief Inspector Tim Lindley, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit’s (EMSOU) major crime team, is leading the investigation. He said: “Despite the arrests our enquiries to establish the circumstances of what happened are continuing and I’d ask anyone who can help us to come forward.
“The area where the man was found and where an assault is believed to have occurred is residential and I’d ask people to check their doorbell and CCTV cameras if they have one. I’d also like to speak to anyone who was driving in the area and has a dashcam in their vehicle.
“In addition, I’d like to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious or unusual either late Sunday evening or in the very early hours of yesterday morning.
“Any details you’re able to provide, no matter how insignificant you think they are, could help.”
