Managing director of East Midlands Railway to leave post
It comes amidst fleet reliability issues
East Midlands Railway (EMR) Managing Director Will Rogers will leave his position on 27th July 2026, after leading the company since January 2020.
It comes a week after EMR introduced a temporary reduced Intercity Timetable because of fleet reliability issues.
He also led East Midlands Railway and their response to the fatal train crash near Bedford on 19th June 2026.
During his tenure, Will oversaw the retirement of the HSTs, introduction of EMR Connect, refurbishment of all fleets, and the launch of the Aurora trains.
Transport UK said Will's leadership through the global COVID pandemic was marked by ensuring the safety of colleagues and supporting key workers.
Will expressed his gratitude, saying:
"I have been incredibly fortunate to work alongside such talented, committed and caring people, and I will always be grateful for the experiences, friendships and memories we’ve shared."
Dominic Booth, CEO of Transport UK, commended Will Rogers, stating:
"Will stepped in to lead EMR shortly after we first secured the contract. He has been instrumental in delivering exceptional service to our customers."
Neil Grabham will assume the role of interim Managing Director after serving as the Managing Director of Merseyrail and previously holding the position of Customer Services Director at EMR.
Neil is eager to reconnect with colleagues and support the team through this transition:
