Man arrested over serious assault outside Nottingham music venue

Victim remains critically ill following a single punch attack

Detectives have arrested a suspect following a serious assault outside The Nest music venue in Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to Iremonger Road at 12.30am on Monday, 31st August, where a man in his 40s was attacked outside a rave event.

He was punched once in the head, knocking him unconscious. He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition after receiving treatment for serious head injuries.

Nottinghamshire Police conducted extensive CCTV checks and made a public appeal.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently in custody.

Detective Sergeant Kate Hyde of Nottinghamshire Police stated that while progress has been made in the investigation, they are still seeking information from witnesses.

She said, "Our victim remains seriously ill in hospital and his family is being supported and updated on our investigation.

"We know there were several hundred people in attendance at the event and believe there will have been a significant number of witnesses. If you saw anything which could help with our investigation, please get in touch."
