An 18 year old man is in a critical condition in hospital after three pedestrians were hit by a car near Hucknall.

A man and a woman, both in their 60s, were also seriously injured in the collision.

Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage following the incident on Linby Lane, Linby, shortly before 9pm last night.

All three pedestrians, who had been walking along a footpath, remain in hospital.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

Linby Lane was closed between Moor Road and Wighay Road, but reopened this morning at around 8am.

Police appeal for witness information

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

"This collision occurred on a busy stretch of road and we believe there will be a number of witnesses who may have seen the vehicle involved, a blue BMW, in the moments before the incident.

“If you can help, and have not yet spoken to an officer, please get in touch without delay.

“Likewise, any drivers who were in the area around this time should please get in touch if they have any relevant dashcam footage which could assist.”
