Police have launched a murder investigation after a man's body was found in a caravan in Loughborough.
A murder probe has been launched after a man's body was found in a caravan in Loughborough.
Emergency services were called to Derby Road at around 11:40pm on Monday (6 July).
The man - who was aged in his 40s - had reported being in an altercation days prior.
Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) is leading the investigation. He said: “I’ve got a dedicated team of officers working to understand what’s happened in this altercation and the events that led to the death of this man.
“Officers will be in the area of Derby Road over the coming days, carrying out enquiries and forensic investigations. A cordon will remain in place while these enquiries are carried out.
“Anyone with any information, contact us on 101, quoting incident number incident 26*398136.”
A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
