Six arrested on suspicion of murder after man stabbed in Leicester
Six men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed and killed in Leicester.
Six men - aged between 18 and 33 - have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a stabbing in Leicester.
A man in his 20s, who had injuries to his chest and stomach, managed to flag down a passing police car on London Road at around 10:45pm on Wednesday (22 July).
He was taken to hospital, but died in the early hours of the following day.
It is believed he was attacked on De Montford Place, which is to the rear to a number of properties on London Road.
Six men have now been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in police custody.
One of the men has also been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.
Detective Inspector Lorna Granville, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team, said: “Following the death of the man, specialist trained officers have identified his next of kin and are supporting them. I would like to express my sincere condolences to them at this difficult time.
“This investigation remains ongoing with teams of dedicated officers and staff working to understand what has occurred and the events leading up to the injured man being found.
“Following extensive enquiries, we have made a number of arrests today. The six men in custody will now be interviewed while we continue to gather information and evidence in relation to the incident.
“I would like to thank people who live and work in the area for coming forward with information and assisting us, particularly in relation to capturing vital CCTV from last night.
“If anyone has not yet contacted police but has information or was driving in the area last night between 10.30pm and 11pm, please come forward. Even the smallest detail could assist us in our investigation.”
