Murder charge against woman in Leicester body-in-van case withdrawn

A murder charge against a woman after the death of a man whose body was found in the back of a van has been withdrawn.
Harinder Kaur, 39, had been charged with murdering Major Singh, who was in his 30s, after his body was discovered inside a Ford Transit in a Leicester car park on May 27.
Prosecutors alleged that Mr Singh was killed in Hounslow, west London, before being transported more than 100 miles away.
Kaur, of Sutton Dene in Hounslow, west London, was also charged with perverting the course of justice.
The Old Bailey heard on Friday that the murder charge against Kaur had been withdrawn.
She denied the charge of perverting the course of justice, with a trial date for that fixed for April 5 2027.
