A man in his 50s was punched and kicked after attempting to assist a tram driver in Hucknall.

The incident occurred at the Butler's Hill tram stop between midnight and 12.20am on 19th June 2026 when the victim stepped in to help as a group of youths argued with the tram driver.

He was punched in the face, resulting in a bleeding nose, and then kicked several times.

Nottinghamshire Police are now asking for the public's assistance in identifying four youths in connection with the incident.

Appeal for Information

PC Thomas Feron of Nottinghamshire Police stated: "This was a despicable attack on a man just trying to help the tram driver. This sort of violence will not be tolerated on our tram network and we are working hard to trace those responsible."

"As part of our inquiries, we have now released images of four youths we believe could help us with our investigation.

"We'd urge them, or anyone who recognises those pictured, to please come forward and get in touch with us as soon as possible."
