Men charged with murder after Derby street cleaner's death
Charges follow the fatal assault on Kevin Clarry
Two men have been charged with the murder of Kevin Clarry, who died after an assault in Derby in 2023.
Kevin Clarry, who was working as a street cleaner for Derby City Council, was allegedly involved in an altercation with two men on St Peter's Street shortly after 6am on 28th October 2023.
During the incident, Mr Clarry sustained serious injuries to his head and face.
On 11th December 2024, Mr Clarry was found collapsed at his home on Wiltshire Road, Derby, and was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital. He died three days later at 12pm on 14th December.
Today, Thursday 23rd July, Miles Jones, 29, formerly of Hall Park Close, Derby, and Stephen Beresford, 27, formerly of Charnwood Street, Derby, have been charged with the murder of Mr Clarry.
Both men are scheduled to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24th July.
