Body found identified as missing woman in Nottingham
Police confirm identity and continue investigation
Police have confirmed that a body found during their search in Nottingham is that of a missing woman, Holly Whittaker.
Efforts to locate Holly Whittaker have been ongoing since she was last seen in Mapperley on 4th September.
The searches led to the discovery of a woman's body yesterday afternoon, 15th September, near Queen's Road in Nottingham city centre.
Police have now confirmed the identity of the body as Holly Whittaker.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould from Nottinghamshire Police remarked that specially-trained officers are providing support to Holly's family during this difficult time.
“While the circumstances are still being investigated, at this time, we are not treating her death as suspicious.” she said.
“We would like to thank everyone who came forward with any information or shared our public appeals since Holly was first reported missing.
A file will now be prepared for the coroner as our investigations continue.”
