A second man has been arrested after a body was found in a caravan in Loughborough.

He was found on Monday evening (6th July) parked in a layby on the A6 Derby Road.

The man in his 40s was later pronounced dead and enquiries have since revealed he reported being involved in an altercation in the days leading up to being found.

Police then launched a murder investigation and arrested a 56-year-old who was released on police bail.

Last night (8th July) a 42-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.

Forensic work is being carried out at the scene and a cordon is in place.

Detective Inspector Mike Chander from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) is leading the investigation.

He said: “We will continue our investigations today to work to understand the sequence of events that lead to this man’s death.

“There is significant work going on including forensic enquires, talking to witnesses and any CCTV opportunities."

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact police.
