Fourth suspect arrested in Bestwood stabbing inquiry
Police arrest 35-year-old man linked to multiple alleged offences
A further arrest has been made in the investigation into a stabbing in Bestwood last month.
Detectives have been carrying out inquiries since a man suffered several knife wounds near Sandy Banks Nature Reserve.
The victim was attacked with a knife while walking along Bembridge Drive towards the park entrance at around 7.10pm on 7th August.
Officers on patrol assisted him, and he received treatment for injuries to his chest, back, and legs.
Three arrests followed immediately after the attack, and the investigation has now led to a fourth suspect being apprehended on Wednesday afternoon.
Top Valley Arrest
Police attended a property in Top Valley suspected of being linked to the investigation.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in the garden and was taken into custody.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, after officers found wraps of cocaine in a bag he was carrying.
Additional Alleged Offences
The suspect is also linked to other alleged crimes, including a burglary in Mansfield in June, an assault on a woman in Bestwood, and the discovery of an illegal butterfly knife in Bulwell.
Consequently, he faces additional suspicions of burglary, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possessing an offensive weapon.
Previously, a 54-year-old man, a 42-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the same incident.
Mark Crampton, from Chippenham Road, Bestwood, is charged with wounding with intent and is remanded for a Nottingham Crown Court appearance next Wednesday.
The woman and boy were released on conditional bail.

Detective Inspector Stu Barson of Nottinghamshire Police commented on the ongoing investigation:
"Our officers have been conducting extensive inquiries in the weeks since this assault and have now managed to arrest a further suspect.
"This news has been shared with the victim, who is still recovering from the attack and who continues to be supported by our specially trained officers.
"While his injuries are thankfully not believed to be life-altering, it should be emphasised that this was a very serious assault that could've caused the victim severe harm.
"As such, we’d ask anyone that hasn’t done so already to continue reporting any information they have about this assault to the police, so that we can act on it."
