A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 62-year-old in Leicester.
James 'Jimmy' McKeown was found unresponsive in Beaumont Leys Park at around 6:20pm on Monday (6 April).
He was taken to hospital where he later died.
In a statement, his family said: "“To say that the events of yesterday evening have changed our lives forever is an understatement. We have lost a loving father, brother, partner and grandfather, our lives will never be the same again.
“Jimmy has lived locally for nearly 20 years and was well known in the community, affectionately known to many as Spider.
“We would ask that people respect our privacy and give us the time to come to terms with what has happened.”
Joshua Moore, 33, of Fowler Close, Beaumont Leys, is accused of manslaughter and is due in court today (8 April).
Detectives from the East Midlands Murder Investigation Team thanked the local community for their co-operation while their enquiries were ongoing in the area.
Their investigation continues and if anyone has any information that they have not reported so far, they are urged to get in touch.
