Free parking is being offered in Weymouth, for four days this year - with groups invited to apply to benefit.

The Town Council, and the Dorset authority, is looking to waive fees for certain events again during 2025.

There's now a push for local organisations, who want to have free parking for their cause, to get in touch.

Charities and events can apply for which car parks they'd like to use, and the days they need it, through an online survey |newtab) or by emailing [email protected] by midday on Monday 3rd March.

Cllr Matt Bell, Chair of the Environment and Services Committee, said:

“Offering free parking dates will provide a real boost for key events in the town and will help to bring more people to Weymouth to enjoy a fun day out. We are pleased to work in partnership with Dorset Council to offer these selected free parking dates and if you would like your event to be considered for free parking this year, please complete our short online survey by 12.00pm on 3rd March.”

Applications will then be considered by Weymouth Town Council’s Environment and Services Committee later in March, before the successful organisations are announced.

The four dates available for free parking can't be in December though.

That's because Small Business Saturday, which falls on 6th December, is an automatic inclusion in the scheme, with town centre car parks free of charge for the day.
