Man charged after crash left police officer hospitalised in Dorset
A 35-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving
A man's been charged in connection with a crash in Sturminster Marshall, which left a police officer needing hospital treatment.
Emergency services were called to the A31 between Stag Gate and the Roundhouse Roundabout on Monday (29th September) night.
The collision involved an unmarked police vehicle and a white BMW.
An officer was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
A 35-year-old man has since been charged with dangerous driving and will appear before Poole Magistrates' Court on 16th October 2025.
A Dorset police spokesperson said "Dorset Police received a report at 9.29pm on Monday 29 September 2025 of a collision involving an unmarked police vehicle and a white BMW on the A31 between Stag Gate and the Roundhouse Roundabout.
"Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place to allow them to deal with the incident.
"A police officer was treated by the ambulance service and taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not described as life-threatening or life-changing and he has since been released from hospital.
"There were no reports of any injuries to the occupant of the other vehicle involved.
"The driver of the BMW – a 35-year-old man – was arrested on suspicion of driving offences."
