Person dies after being struck by train at Moreton

A person's died after being hit by a train near Moreton.

British Transport Police were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Moreton Station at 10.40am this morning (Wednesday 26th February).

A spokesperson said:

"Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased.

"The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner. "

Services between London Waterloo and Weymouth have been affected as a result of the incident, around Wareham and Wool.

South Western Railway had bus replacement services in place, but say the lines have now reopened.

Passengers are warned to expect some delays through until 5.00pm today though.
