A large fire's broken out at Moors Valley Country Park on the Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire border this afternoon (Monday 31st March).

Around 80 firefighters have been called out after flames were reported in an area of pine woodland, measuring 400 metres by 500 metres.

Crews were called out just before midday today.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue have sent engines from Verwood, Ferndown, Poole, Amesbury, Springbourne, Redhill Park, Shaftesbury, Westbourne, Christchurch and Swanage, and Bridport.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue have crews in attendance from Ringwood, Burley, Beaulieu, Eastleigh, Fordingbridge, Romsey, Redbridge, Portchester, St Mary’s and Eastleigh.

Firefighters have confirmed no-one's been hurt in the incident.

A statement says: "Crews are working hard to dampen down the large area of woodland affected by the blaze.

"Verwood Road has been closed to allow access for emergency services vehicles, so please continue to avoid the area."

Crews have made a plea to people to take care in open spaces as an Amber wildfire alert is currently in place for the area.
