Large barn fire in Throop Hollow
1000 tonnes of hay are burning
Crews have been tackling a large barn fire in Throop Hollow.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 6.43am today.
The incident involves a barn measuring 25m x 40m containing approximately 1000 tonnes of hay bales.
The barn is going to be left to burn out, with a watching brief between crews and the farmer.
The Service says this is likely to be a protracted incident.
Firefighters from Wareham, Dorchester and Poole have been at the scene.
