Fire crews rescue dog after fall from cliff at Seatown
Animal safely reunited with owners after dramatic rescue
A dog that fell off a cliff at Seatown has been successfully rescued and reunited with its owners.
Crews from Bridport, Weymouth, and Beaminster fire stations were mobilised after reports of the animal's accident on 10th March.
When Bridport crews arrived on the scene, they were quickly joined by Beaminster.
The teams spoke with the dog's owners to plan the rescue.
Working-at-height equipment was transported to the cliff top using Beaminster's Ford Ranger.
Once the dog was located 20 metres down the cliff, the Weymouth technical rescue team used rope equipment to lower a technician who retrieved the dog.
Thankfully, the rescued dog was unharmed.
Fire services advise all pet owners to keep dogs on leads when walking along cliff paths to prevent accidents.
