Terrace houses destroyed in large property fire
Crews stopped the fire at the third house
Two terrace houses have been destroyed by fire in Plymouth, with a third house 80% destroyed.
Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene by the new development on Prince Maurice Road just after 6:30pm yesterday (Sunday). Crews from seven stations attended.
The fire involved a row of eight houses, each with four storeys. The buildings were vacant as in construction and building materials were also involved in the fire.
Crews have been working overnight to dampen down the fire. Three breathing apparatus, five attack jets, an aerial ladder platform as well as water tower, two thermal imaging cameras, one ladder and two gas monitors were all used to bring the fire under control.
