A large fire broke out in a temporary school classroom in Totnes in the early hours of this morning.

Several 999 calls were made to Devon & Somerset fire control just after midnight, prompting the dispatch of three fire engines from Paignton, Ashburton, and Totnes to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the single-storey building well alight.

Fire crews tackled the blaze using two hose reel jets, one foam jet, two breathing apparatus, and small tools.

The temporary school building was completely destroyed, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Police were also present during the incident.
