Teenage motorcyclist critically injured in Barnstaple crash

Police are asking for witnesses to come forward

A teenage motorcyclist is in critical condition following a crash in Barnstaple.

The collision happened around 5.15pm on 28th January on the A39 Shirwell Road, near its junction with the B3230.

A Sherco 50cc motorcycle and a Range Rover Evoque were involved in the crash.

The motorcycle rider, a 16-year-old boy from Barnstaple, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The two people in the Range Rover were unharmed.

Roads policing officers attended the scene, and the road was closed until 8pm for investigation work.

Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage or information about the crash to get in touch via their website or by calling 101, quoting log number 547 of 28th January.
