Six men charged after police raids uncover organised crime activities
Detectives conduct extensive operation across local properties
Six men have been charged following police raids across Swindon as part of an investigation into organised crime activities.
The operation involved officers from both the Devon & Cornwall and Wiltshire Police Serious & Organised Crime Units.
Warrants were executed across several properties on 4th February, leading to the arrests and charging of the men.
Frankie O’Dwyer, 25, of Ermin Street, Swindon, faces charges including false imprisonment and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
Alton O’Connell, 27, of Highdown Way, Swindon, is charged with kidnap and handling stolen goods, among other offenses.
Luke McInerny, 31, of Bath Road, Swindon, faces charges including possession of counterfeit currency.
Karl Houghton, 36, of Elgin Drive, Swindon; Dwain Stratford, 35, of Beech Avenue, Swindon; and Nicholas O’Dwyer, 56, of Groundswell Road, Swindon, are also charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.
The six men have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Exeter Magistrates’ Court on 6th February.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries.
