Man arrested after sexual assault in Plymouth's Mutley Plain area

Detectives investigating a sexual assault in Plymouth have arrested a man.

Police were called at around 4am on Saturday 10th January after a report of a woman being sexually assaulted in the Mutley Plain area.

Officers attended, and the area was cordoned off.

Yesterday, 15th January, a man in his 20s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Katy Deer said the investigation is ongoing:

“We have arrested a male in connection with this incident and he is currently in custody assisting with our investigation.

“Our investigation is ongoing, and I would like to thank the local community for their support whilst we have carried out our enquiries over the past few days.

“We have specialist officers in place to continue to provide support to the victim.”
