Police investigating the death of a man in Plymouth have arrested a second man on suspicion of murder.

An investigation was launched after the body of 24-year-old Drew Perham was found in Millbay Marina on Sunday (January 25).

A 19-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on Sunday (January 25) on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Today, (January 26) a second man, aged 19 and from Exmouth, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken into police custody.

Drew was reported missing to police on Saturday 24 (January 24) after he failed to return home from a night out on Friday.

His body was found in the water at Millbay Marina during searches on Sunday (January 25).

Formal identification is yet to take place but Drew’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Officers are urging anyone with information who may have been in the Millbay area between 1am and 5am on Saturday 24th January to come forward.

Detective Inspector Neil Blanchard from the Major Crime Investigation Team said: “The investigation into Drew’s death remains ongoing with a number of enquiries taking place.

"As a result the community will continue to see an increased police presence for the coming days.

“I continue to ask people to avoid speculating about this case – this is an ongoing investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and online speculation in particular is not helpful.

“If you have information which may assist our investigation, please get in touch and report it.

"We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the Millbay area in the specified times.”

Detectives have launched a Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) where the public can submit large files, such as CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, that could assist with the investigation.
