Reform UK has suspended Plymouth councillor Ben Rowe.

It follows after a series of alleged controversial social media posts, which are reported to have surfaced.

Rowe became a councillor in the Plymouth Ham Ward last Thursday after securing 1,649 votes - beating the second place Labour candidate by nearly 900 votes.

A spokesperson for Reform UK told us: "Cllr Rowe has been suspended pending investigation."

The outcome of the investigation has not yet been announced.

We have also contacted Plymouth City Council for a statement.
