Further appeal issued following serious assault in Exwick

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Exwick on 12 June are continuing to appeal for witnesses to report information

Officers were called by ambulance at 5.50pm after the man was located with life-threatening injuries near the River Exe off Station Road.

A man is his 20s had sustained a number of puncture wounds and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

He was later transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where he remains in a serious condition.

A man in his 20s from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains on police bail while the investigation is ongoing.

Following the incident, the police have issued an appeal for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on 12 June to contact them.

The police say they believe that there were other people in the area who have not yet got in touch.
