Pedestrian seriously injured after collision in Tiverton

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in a collision with a car in Tiverton this afternoon (February 11th).

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 1.10pm on Bampton Street.

The fame pedestrian sustained what are believed to be serious injuries and was air lifted to hospital

Road closures have been put in place and the incident remains ongoing.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"We were called to a report of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Bampton Street, Tiverton, at around 1.10pm today, Wednesday 11 February.

"Emergency services are at the scene.

"The female pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

"Local road closures have been put in place.

"The incident is ongoing."
