Neil Warnock is set to take temporary charge of Torquay United for their upcoming fixture against Farnborough on Tuesday night.

Warnock, who became an advisor to Torquay's new owners in May 2024, returns to management having last managed Aberdeen earlier in the year.

Known for his extensive career, the 77-year-old has overseen more games than any other manager in English league history and holds the record for the most promotions with eight.

Warnock had a brief managerial stint with Torquay in 1993 and has been involved with the club since he was approached by the Bryn Consortium.

The consortium took over Torquay United after the club went into administration two years ago.

This change comes after the club announced the departure of first-team manager Paul Wotton.

Torquay United expressed their thanks to Wotton for his contributions during his tenure and wished him success in future ventures.

While Warnock steps in, the club has not yet outlined permanent arrangements following Wotton's departure but has promised further updates in due course.
