Man charged with murder following woman's death in Dartmouth

A man has been charged with murder after a woman died in Dartmouth on Tuesday this week.

38-year-old Luke Rigby of Newcomen Road, Dartmouth, will appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Saturday 10th of October), accused of the murder of 46-year-old Rebecca Grass.

On Tuesday the 6th of October, emergency services were called to a property in Newcomen Road at around 9.20pm following reports of a serious disturbance.

Miss Grass was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 46-year-old man was also taken to hospital with facial injuries. Rigby has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in relation to the man who was injured.

Rigby is also charged with three further separate alleged offences of assault by beating, a racially-aggravated public order offence and an assault on an emergency worker. He is currently in police custody.

Miss Grass's family have been informed of the developments and are being supported by specially trained officers.
