A man arrested after a fatal crash in Torquay will face no further action, police have confirmed.
The collision happened on Torwood Street, Torquay, at around 5.05pm on 31st August last year.
The three vehicles involved were a black Audi Q5, a blue Suzuki SV 650 motorcycle and a grey Ford Ranger.
The motorcycle rider, Ben Rafton, a 24-year-old originally from Plymouth but living in Southampton, died at the scene of the crash from his injuries.
Following the incident, police arrested the driver of the Audi – a man in his 20s from Plymouth – on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
However, after investigating the case, police said there was no evidence to support a prosecution, and the man will face no further action.
A file is being prepared for HM Coroner.
Ben’s parents, speaking after his death, paid tribute to their son and remembered him as “a fine young man” who made everyone around him laugh.
