Investigation after man stabbed in Plymouth

An investigation is under way after a man was allegedly stabbed following a disturbance involving multiple people in Plymouth.

The incident happened in the Mildmay Street area at around 2.50pm on Saturday 1st November.

Police were called after receiving reports that a man had suffered a stab wound to the chest, possibly caused by a screwdriver.

It was reported the man had been stabbed following an incident in Hospital Road, where several people were present and a sword was allegedly brandished.

Armed officers were deployed to the area and a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He has since been released on police bail.

A woman in her 30s was held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has also been released on police bail.

Today (November 3), a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of affray.

He remains in police custody at this time.

The man who was stabbed was taken to hospital after the incident, but police say that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Detectives have also confirmed that a sword was recovered from inside a property.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has phone, dash-cam, CCTV, or doorbell footage relevant to the investigation to come forward.
