Further arrest after reported hate crime incident in Bournemouth

Police have made another arrest after a reported hate crime incident in Bournemouth on Saturday 23 August 2025

Detectives investigating a reported hate crime incident in Bournemouth have made a further arrest.

It was reported that at around 2.50pm on Saturday 23 August 2025, two people were walking in Manor Road when the driver of a car stopped and made offensive comments toward them.

Dorset Police say it was reported that one of the people – a teenage boy – was subsequently shot at with an air weapon. He sustained a minor head injury.

Following enquiries by detectives, a 26-year-old man from Ferndown was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an imitation firearm in a public place before he was released on police bail.

After further investigative work, a 28-year-old man from Portsmouth in Hampshire has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage to property and possession of an imitation firearm.

He has also been released on police bail.

Enquiries are ongoing.
