Flood warning issued for South Devon coastal areas

High tides and strong winds forecast to cause overnight flooding

Residents along the South Devon coast are warned to prepare for potential flooding as high tides, strong winds, and large waves are anticipated overnight.

Flooding is expected around high tide on the evening of 22nd April in areas including Hallsands, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Teignmouth Promenade, and Dawlish.

Strong force 6 easterly winds and offshore wave heights over 2.2m are expected.

Flooding may affect coastal roads, footpaths, and car parks, and it is advised to avoid these areas.

Coastal conditions should improve by Thursday morning’s high tide.
