The rail line between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton remains closed after a train hit a deer, causing a fuel leak onto the track.

Network Rail Western confirmed the incident resulted in the closure, with Great Western Railway (GWR) advising passengers that train services running between these stations are cancelled.

Replacement buses will run between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton, starting at Exeter at 07:30, and rail tickets are being accepted on local bus routes.

Passengers affected by the disruption can use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner for updates and contact station staff for assistance.

For passengers delayed significantly due to this disruption, GWR provides Delay Repay compensation options.

GWR is coordinating with Network Rail to resume normal services as soon as possible.
