Man dies of severe burns following fire in Exeter car park
Police were called to Okehampton Street last Thursday (27th February).
A man who suffered severe burns from a fire in an Exeter car park last week has died, police say.
Emergency services were called to Swan Yard, just off Okehampton Street at around 10:30pm on Thursday (27th February) to reports of a blaze.
Although the victim- a man in his 30s- was taken to hospital for treatment, he did not survive.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: "Police were called by fire to a yard off Okehampton Street in Exeter, at around 10.30pm on Thursday 27th February following a report a man had suffered severe burns in a fire.
"The man in his 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Tragically, he has since passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the fire.
"His next of kin has been informed.
"Anybody who witnessed the incident or who has relevant footage is asked to contact police on 101 or via our website quoting 50250051073."
