Firefighters spent several hours tackling a blaze that broke out in an agricultural barn in Sydenham Damerel.

The fire involved a building used to store farm vehicles and wood.

Crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) were supported by colleagues from Cornwall Fire and Rescue, who provided water bowsers and additional personnel equipped with breathing apparatus.

During the incident, a propane cylinder at the scene was cooled and inspected by specialists before being safely removed.

Firefighters worked to bring the fire under control and continued to dampen down the area after the main blaze was extinguished.

Crews will later revisited the site, to use a thermal imaging camera to check for any remaining hotspots.

Environmental protection measures were also put in place to limit the impact on the surrounding area.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
