Police are seeking help from the public to identify a man captured on CCTV following a fatal single vehicle collison between Ashburton and Buckfastleigh last week.

At around 1.10am on Monday 26 January a single vehicle collision took place on the unnamed road near to Strawberry Fields Farm Shop in Buckfastleigh.

A green Subaru Legacy Outback was discovered in a field adjacent to the road the following afternoon.

The driver, a man in his 30s from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the man seen on CCTV shortly after the collision may have witnessed the collision, heard it, or seen the Subaru in the moments before it.

His face is not visible in the images, but police are hopeful someone might recognize him from his clothing or that he might come forward himself.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101 or through their website, quoting log 555 of 27th January.
