Body found during search for missing kayaker in Tiverton

A body has been found in the search for a missing kayaker in Tiverton.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called at 3.50pm on Saturday 24th January following concerns for a man in his 40s who has reportedly got into difficulty in the river near Great Western Bridge.

His kayak was later recovered during searches.

Today (January 29) a body was located and retrieved from the River Exe.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of the missing kayaker has been informed.
