Police seek witnesses after hate-related attack
Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for information after they say a disabled man was verbally and physically assaulted in a hate-related incident in Paignton.
They say the assault occurred on the seafront at Goodrington, between the Premier Inn and Torbay Surf Life Saving Club, on 17th September 2026, between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
The victim, a man in his 60s, was targeted with hate-related verbal abuse before being attacked by an unknown man riding a bicycle.
Police believe several witnesses may have been in the vicinity during the time of the incident, including a group of schoolchildren with teachers and individuals near the steam train.
Investigators wish to speak with anyone who witnessed the attack or saw a cyclist who may be involved.
