A man has been arrested after making threats with an air rifle during a road rage incident outside an Exmouth McDonald's.

Police were called just after 11:30 on Saturday (October 18) following a report of a road rage incident outside McDonald's in Exmouth.

Devon and Cornwall Police say it was reported that a threat was made by a male suspect with a firearm.

Officers located the suspect’s vehicle outside a property in Sutton Road.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said "The suspect – a man in his 20s and from Plymouth – exited the property and was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

"He has since been released on bail.

"An air rifle was found within the vehicle and seized."
