Two men have been jailed after stealing an electric bike from a 13-year-old boy in Kendal.
Declan Hughes, 23, of no fixed abode, has been jailed two years and four months after admitting robbery.
Ryan Bond, also 23, of High Cragg Close in Kendal, has been jailed for one year after admitting theft.
The court heard how the victim was trying to sell his electric bike when someone messaged him on Snapchat allegedly interested in buying it.
On 26 January 2026, the boy, with family members, arranged to meet the 'buyer' (Hughes) in Oxenholme.
Hughes began looking at the bike before pushing the teenager to the ground and riding off with it.
Bond was waiting behind a hedge nearby and jumped onto the back of the bike.
Hughes dropped a mobile phone on the floor while riding away.
The bike was later found outside Bond's address, and Hughes was found hiding in the loft by officers.
