Two men have been arrested after a man was left with a leg injury
Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Wigton.
Officers had received a report of a man suffering a significant leg injury as a result of an assault, believed to have happened in the Kirkland Road area.
The injured man was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.
Two men, one aged 27 and the other aged 30, have been arrested in connection with the incident and they remain in custody.
Anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information which may assist the investigation is being urged to contact police.
