Police appeal for witnesses after fatal crash on A7

A woman has died following a collision between a car and a lorry on the A7 near Westlinton. Police are asking for witnesses to come forward.

The fatal crash happened on the A7 between Westlinton and Blackford.

The collision, involving a Peugeot 208 and an HGV, was reported at 11am on Wednesday, 20 March.

The driver of the Peugeot, 21-year-old Ella Bush from Carlisle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage to contact them.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision or may have captured it on dashcam. Any information could assist our investigation.”
