Motorcyclist and 9-year-old child hurt in Aspatria crash
Emergency services were called to North View just before 5:40pm on Sunday
Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash in Aspatria left a man and a young girl injured.
Emergency services were called to North View just before 5:40pm on Sunday (20 July), after a motorcyclist collided with a wall.
Police say a nine-year-old girl was also hurt in the crash.
The rider, a man in his 20s from the town, has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary with potentially serious injuries, though they’re not thought to be life-threatening.
The child was also taken to hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be serious.
Officers say it had been reported that two motorcycles were being ridden dangerously in the area before the crash.
A 35-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and obstructing police.
He remains in custody.
Police are urging anyone who saw the crash or the motorcycles beforehand to come forward.
They’re also asking people with dashcam or doorbell footage from the area to get in touch.
